Last Match

 

I don’t know about the other parents who were there but I was really proud of all the players. Every single one played with a smile and a desire to win.

 

Clearly we have a lot to learn, but you could see how even during that one game the team got better. As I told the kids: the score is academic at this stage. We will get better, we will start winning games, but it will take time – maybe even all season. (Maybe the short term goal should be to keep the score to under 20!!)

 

The main thing is the kids are having fun.

 

Next Match

 

Kick-off for this Saturday’s home match will be at 10.30.

 

It is a Pool B match.

 

The goals should already be set up as there is another home match immediately before ours, but might need help getting them down.

 

I need a volunteer to referee.

 

Oh – and someone to make the bacon butties!! (joke)

 

If anyone can’t make it let me know.

 

Training

 

Please note the clock at the ground which everyone seems to go by is a few minutes slow which is why we always seem to start and finish a bit late.

 

As regards subs for training we each need to chip in about £2 per session. I suggest that we collect a fixed amount at the end of each calendar month unless someone has a better idea. Any accountants out there or budding Treasurers? I will try to figure out what happens to any excess.
