The venue for tomorrow’s match has just been changed. It is back on Castrol’s old pitch. See Google directions below.

 

Basically, head out past the zoo. Turn right on to the A5032 and keep going. Go straight ahead at roundabout and then it’s about 400 yards on your right.

 

If you type “castrol sports and social club ellesmere port” into Google Maps you will see the playing fields and car park just above Strawberry Drive.

Hi All

 

Ok so the match this Saturday is confirmed. Kick-off will be at 10.30.

 

Meet at Waverton from where we will set off at 9.45 or meet at 10.00 at their pitch which their coach has confirmed is at Capenhurst Grange School.

 

Basically keep going down the A41 past the Wirral 100 Pub on left hand side and Capenhurst Grange School will be on your right after a while (although I am not sure exactly how far). You turn up the drive and follow it to the end where you will see the other side and hopefully some Strikers.

 

If you type Capenhurst Grange School into Google Map it will show you where.

 

I will have my phone with me anyway.

 

Remember it is a Pool A match, so Pool B players will not be playing – welcome to come and cheer!

Hi All

 

Our next match is this Saturday away to Castrol Athletic. I am waiting to confirm with the other coach and will try to get you proper directions.

 

Assuming kick off is at 10.30 please either meet at Waverton from where we will set off at 9.45 or meet at 10.00 at their pitch which I am assuming for the time being is at Capenhurst Grange School.

 

This will be the first time we try our rotation system, so it will be Pool A this week and then Pool B the following match.

 

Look out for emails or texts from me in the next few days just in case the details change.

Saturday 20th September 2008   MATCH   There will be no match or training on Saturday. Next match will be 27th September 2008  away to Castrol Athletic.

 

Hi All

 

Despite the score, I thought the game went as well as it could have last Saturday. All the kids tried hard, kept their heads up and when we gathered around at the end of it they all looked like they had enjoyed themselves.

 

You can’t ask for more than that.

 

Obviously we cannot go to matches with 14 people each time. Richard and I are discussing how best to manage that ie rotation etc and will get back to you hopefully this time next week.

 

It is also clear that we cannot take on new players. Even though it pains me to turn people away I will be telling Nathan’s parents that we cannot take him on.

 

There will be training on Friday. I will not be there but Richard will. If you get there early and Richard is not there, we will (hopefully) be training on the same pitch sharing as usual with Gavin and Pete’s teams.

 

At some point we will have to start collecting money for the training pitch so we might need a volunteer to collect the subs.

I have just heard that AFC Waverton have launched a new website. It looks great and you can also get the fixture list via there as well.

 

However: Even better…

 

It now has a blog type function so I can post info about the next match or the last match etc which could be useful if:

 

You can’t find that email I sent you

Someone is not on my email circulation (eg we have new parents or you change jobs)

You have access to the internet but not your own email

 

So I am testing out how easy it is by posting this email.
